Guinea held Senegal to a dull 0-0 draw in Group B, extending their disappointing start to the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Guineans had the only real chance of the first half as Seny Dieng saved from Morgan Guilavogui.
With Abdou Diallo’s header tipped over and Bouna Sarr dragging a shot across goal and wide, Senegal grew into the Group B clash after the break.
After two games, both teams have four points, putting them in a position to advance as one of the four best third-place teams.
Senegal had needed a 97th-minute penalty to beat Zimbabwe in their opening game and Aliou Cisse’s side, who are among the favourites for the title, put in another disjointed display.
