Simisola Kosoko, better known as Simi, an Afro-pop singer, has stated that motherhood has transformed her more than marriage.
“Nothing really,” she told Sunday Scoop when asked what marriage had changed about her. Motherhood has altered me more than marriage has because it is still just the two of us and things are pretty much the same in marriage. “It’s merely a change of address,” says the narrator.
The mother-of-one also discussed her time as an entertainer in 2021. “It was a strange year,” she recalled, “and I didn’t release any music until November.” It was a fantastic year for afrobeats, and I’m delighted I was a part of the industry’s growth.”
Simi, who gave birth to her first kid, Adejare, in 2020, spoke on the lessons she’s learned as a mother. “It has taught me to prioritize and go easy on myself because there is a lot,” she remarked (of work). You must savor every time you have, whether at work or with your child.”
“I would be more proactive about the things I want outside of music and to actually push it regularly and be more patient,” the 33-year-old singer said of one thing she would like to alter about herself if she could. In 2022, I hope to be a patient person.”
