The ongoing Euro 2020 tournament has reached the semi-final stage as the final four teams in the tournament have emerged.

The final four teams are England, Spain, Denmark, and Italy.

On Saturday, Denmark defeated Czech Republic by 2-1 to seal their semi-final spot while in the other quarter-final game, England thrashed Ukraine by 4-0 to seal a semi-final berth in the tournament.

Earlier, Spain and Italy had booked their places in the semi-final after defeating Switzerland and Belgium respectively.

For the semi-final games, England will now face Denmark while Spain and Italy also lock horns for a place in the Wembley final.

Meanwhile, Germany midfielder Toni Kroos said Friday he was retiring from international football, days after the team was knocked out of Euro 2020 by England.

“I have played 106 times for Germany. There will not be another time,” wrote the 31-year-old Real Madrid player on Twitter.

“I had already made the decision to retire after this tournament for some time,” he added, referring to the European championships.

“It had been clear to me for a while that I will not be available for the World Cup 2022 in Qatar.”

Kroos said he planned in the next years to place his “full concentration” on Real Madrid.

“I would also like to be there more as husband and father for my wife and children,” he wrote.

“He made me a national team player and a world champion. He trusted me. We wrote a success story together.”
