Abducted Anambra State Commissioner Released

The abducted Anambra State Commissioner for public utilities, Mr Emeka Ezenwanne who was abducted on March 31, 2021, has regained his freedom.

The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Monday Bala Kuryas says five suspects have been arrested in connection with the crime, promising that the remaining gang members will be apprehended.

While reassuring the residents of their safety, the police chief in a statement on Sunday said the abducted Commissioner returned home unhurt.

Mr Ezenwanne was kidnapped during a meeting organized by the former CBN governor, Professor Charles Soludo at Isuofia community in the Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra state.

Three police officers lost their lives in the attack.

The police commissioner called for calm and reiterated the command’s commitment towards ensuring the safety and security of the Anambra people and residents alike.
