Doyin Okupe’s son, Bolu, has advised actor, Uche Maduagwu, not to make a joke of the LGBTQ community in Nigeria, after recently coming out as gay.

It can be recalled that on Wednesday, January 27th, 2021, Uche Maduagwu shared a photo with the tag ”Proudly GAY” after the gay video of a certain upcoming actor went viral on social media.

He alleged that no less than 12 sitting Nigerian governors are gays.

In a post he made on social media, the actor also said that 40 percent of the current lawmakers are also practicing homosexuality.

According to the controversial actor, he said some movie producers has refused to work with him because he came out as gay.

Bolu Okupe who also came out as a gay man earlier this year, has advised the actor not to make fun of the LGBTQ community.

He stated that although it is important for public figures who are gay to come out and lend their voices to the LGBTQ course, public figures like Uche should not make a joke of the community by the actions after they come out of the closet.

”I am not a gay or LGBT police. I am nobody to declare who is gay or not. For all we know, the guy might actually be gay but I just feel like don’t make a mockery or a joke or a spectacle of the situation. Don’t make a fool of the whole thing.

I feel like if you are a public figure; it is great to want to come out and bring awareness to it but don’t make a mockery of the situation. Like don’t make a fool of the whole thing” he said.
